The so-called “Log Cabins” (Špalkové boudy)

The so-called “Log Cabins” (Špalkové boudy) comprised 18 buildings at that time. The Windsor Hotel, as we know it today, was the oldest of them. In 1894, it started working as an accommodation facility and was called Villa Austria. J. Dědek, the hotelier, presented the hotel as the only Czech hotel. In a period from 1910 to 1920, it was renamed the Habsburg Hotel&Guest house, and by 1942, it provided its services as the Schreiber Hotel with thirty-six rooms, central heating and running water. After World War I, its owners, J. and E. Schreiber, left the hotel, which then got another new name - the Windsor Hotel.
